Monday, June 1st is the spring pick up date for the Orphan Grain Train!

We are asking you to bring your donations to church with you on Sunday, May 31st and leave them in the church entry way after church.

Changes have been made to the Orphan Grain Train guidelines.
Please note these changes.
Make sure all clothing is clean, new, or gently used with no stains, rips, broken zippers, or missing buttons. Shoes should be in new or gently used, in good condition. Remember, the people we are giving to are already living in desperate conditions, and deserve the best we can give them. Each item that we send out is a reflection on the Orphan Grain Train.

  • Infant/Toddlers: size 0-4T all types of clothing including winter and summer, snowsuits, children’s undergarments, strollers, cribs, playpens, etc. that are in good order with no missing parts, bottles, new pacifiers, small bath seats, carriers. NO CAR SEATS.

  • Infant diapers: disposable and cloth. Toys: all stuffed toys, dolls, trucks, puzzles, cards, balls, board games with all parts there, battery operated toys.

  • Children’s clothing: Size 5-14 includes all winter and summer, flip flops, sandals, boots, all types of gently used shoes, winter wear along with hats, caps, lightweight scarves, and belts. (We also send some clothing and blankets to the Pregnancy Center).

  • Women clothing: Summer and Winter clothing, maternity tops and bottoms, swimwear, robes, t-shirts, jackets, heavyweight coats, NO FUR, fancy attire, prom, wedding dresses, non-formal dresses. If a set, please attach together. Undies and socks (new in package) or used in good clean condition, undershirts, bras, panties, pantyhose and socks.

  • Men’s clothing: Summer and Winter clothing, jackets, parkas, suits, ties, work boots, robes, hoodies. Undies and socks (new in package) or used in clean good condition for boxers, briefs, socks .

  • NEW PILLOWS, NO used pillows.

  • Household: Dishes, pots, dish towels, silverware, small tools ex hammers, screwdrivers, wrenches; draperies and curtains, rugs, NO KNICKNACKS, NO DECORATOR PILLOWS. Suitcases (empty).

  • Hygiene Products: Soap, disposable briefs, bath towels, wash clothes, toothbrushes, hairbrushes, combs, razors, nail clippers, files, stick deodorant, feminine items, jewelry, sunglasses, hair accessories. disposable bed pads, cloth bed pads, diaper changing pads, lotion, shampoo, conditioner, etc.

  • Medical Supplies: NO MEDICATIONS OR PRESCRIPTION DRUGS,

    adhesive bandages any size (Band-Aids), gauze, wound tape, wound wash, triple antibiotic ointment, hemorrhoid cream, antidiarrheal tablets, acetaminophen, naproxen sodium (ibuprofen), baby aspirin.

  • Sewing supplies: fabric, buttons, thread, yarn, knitting or crocheting supplies.

  • Books, Bibles, Christian Resources, Hymnals, nonfiction and fiction material that are appropriate for elementary or high school students, NO military or Patriotic.

  • Christian booklets, Sunday School Material, pamphlets.

To make this day happen, we need lots of hands to help sort items, putting them into the boxes, labeling, while hauling the boxes to the pickup spot. Please consider giving a few hours of your day on June 1st beginning at 8 am. Your help is greatly appreciated. We prefer that no one does anything with the items for the Orphan Grain Train Until 8 am on Monday, June 1st.
